Description Pinnacle Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Neurology Nurse to join our specialty team. This position is ideal for a veterinary nurse who enjoys advanced patient care, working closely with specialty clinicians, and caring for patients with complex neurologic conditions. Our Neurology team provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of neurologic disorders, including seizures, intervertebral disc disease, spinal cord injuries, vestibular disease, neuromuscular disorders, and other neurologic emergencies.

What You’ll Do As a Veterinary Neurology Nurse, you will work closely with our neurologist and veterinary team to provide exceptional nursing care from initial evaluation through diagnostics, treatment, and recovery. Responsibilities include: Assist the neurologist with patient examinations, diagnostics, procedures, and treatments . Obtain thorough patient histories and perform comprehensive nursing assessments.

Provide nursing care for patients with complex neurologic and medical conditions. Monitor neurologic status and recognize changes that require immediate attention. Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures, including MRI, CT, radiographs, CSF collection, and other neurologic diagnostics . Prepare patients for procedures and ensure appropriate monitoring before, during, and after anesthesia. Perform anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring for neurologic procedures and diagnostics.

Manage IV catheters, fluid therapy, CRIs, medications, and other treatments as directed. Provide appropriate pain management and supportive care. Assist with patient positioning and safe handling of neurologically compromised patients. Recognize changes in patient status and communicate concerns promptly to the veterinarian. Maintain accurate and timely medical records. Educate and communicate with clients regarding patient care, medications, and discharge instructions.

Collaborate with nurses, technicians, assistants, veterinarians, and other specialty departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment and procedure environment. Participate in ongoing education and contribute to a teaching-focused environment. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a confident veterinary nurse who is comfortable caring for medically complex patients and working in a specialty environment.

You do not have to have prior Neurology experience to apply, just a strong interest to learn. Qualifications and skills: Veterinary Technician/Nurse experience, preferably in a specialty or emergency setting. Comfortable assisting a specialty veterinarian with procedures and diagnostics. Anesthesia experience is required. Ability to safely induce, maintain, and recover patients from anesthesia. Strong understanding of anesthetic monitoring and patient safety.

Excellent technical skills and attention to detail. Ability to recognize subtle changes in neurologic and anesthetic patients. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
