Commit to excellence: Work to achieve department and organizational goals to achieve JRMC’s vision Follow JRMC Healthy Roots Fulfill the duties of a Physical Therapist as identified by the American Physical Therapy Association Follow state and Federal law $15,000 Sign On Bonus for New Employees This is a full-time position working 80 hours every two week pay period with a dynamic team of therapists.

Days of work are Monday through Friday with typical hours of work 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends for sports coverage. Holiday work is as needed. Position includes helping with Jamestown High School sports medicine game coverage. JOB FUNCTIONS Quality: Assesses patients of all age groups (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics), develops, plans, and implements a therapy program for each patient, involving physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity as prescribed by physician.

Applies a variety of diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests. Directs and aids patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education and gait and functional training utilizing pulleys and weights, steps and inclined surfaces. Provides instruction in posture control and therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient. Directs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches and prosthetic and orthotic devices.

Adapts conventional physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily carry out a regime of therapeutic exercises. Evaluates, records and reports on patient's progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team. Completes documentation as per JRMC quality standards Assists in updating JRMC policy, procedures, and guidelines. Service: Utilize JRMC excellence tools.

Conducts in-services and/or participates in training medical and nursing personnel and other workers in physical therapy techniques and objectives. People: Oversees rehab aide to ensure the effectiveness and timeliness of the services provided to the patients. Educates students at all levels Finance: Completes work timely Requisitions supplies and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: (PHYSICAL THERAPIST) PREPARATION AND TRAINING - Must have North Dakota license to practice as a physical therapist. Will complete CPR every other year. Position is required to attend Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training in the appropriate timeframe according to department orientation checklist. WORK EXPERIENCE - One year work experience as a physical therapist is preferred, not required.

ATTENDENCE - Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at JRMC. Employee are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees are also expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. ANALYTICAL ABILITY - A very high degree of analytical ability is required to perform a majority of the therapist's duties. Analysis is an on going thing all day long with each patient, involving the continual assessment/reassessment of the patient's condition/responses and consequent adjustments needed to be made in regards to treatment plans and goals.

Good ability needed to assess patient scheduling and coordinate procedures as needed for efficient operation of the department. INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT - The PT works under the supervision of the Rehab Manager in accordance with established Rehab Department policies and procedures.
