Risk Advisor (Sales) – Transportation Non-Fleet Practice

As a Risk Advisor, you will develop and grow your own book of business while partnering with transportation and logistics clients to implement customized insurance and risk management strategies. You will collaborate with experienced service teams, industry specialists, and strategic partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes and long-term value. About the Role As a Transportation Non-Fleet Risk Advisor, you will be responsible for prospecting, building a pipeline, managing client relationships, and developing new business opportunities throughout Colorado’s transportation and logistics community. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives, helping them identify and address complex transportation, operational, and organizational risks.
What You’ll Do Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within transportation, logistics, warehousing, distribution, and related industries through networking, referrals, industry associations, community involvement, and strategic partnerships. Client Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with transportation companies, logistics providers, warehousing and distribution organizations, and other commercial transportation-related businesses while serving as a trusted risk management advisor.
Sales Achievement: Meet or exceed annual new business and sales velocity targets while contributing to the growth of Flood and Peterson’s Transportation Non-Fleet Practice. Risk Needs Analysis: Assess operational, property, liability, workforce, cyber, supply chain, and business continuity risks and recommend tailored insurance and risk management solutions. Internal Collaboration: Partner with service teams, leadership, and carrier partners to deliver exceptional service and support.
Industry Engagement: Actively participate in transportation, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain associations, industry organizations, economic development groups, and community initiatives to expand your network and market presence. Marketing & Presentations: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop proposals, presentations, educational content, and campaigns that resonate with transportation and logistics clients.
What You Bring Industry Knowledge: Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, safety and compliance, supply chain management, equipment sales, business development, or commercial insurance serving transportation and logistics clients is preferred. Education and Work Experience: Associate degree (AA) or four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: Possess and maintain a Colorado Property & Casualty Producer License. Possess and maintain Specialist in Transportation and Risk (STAR) designation. Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR. Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) sales, building relationships, generating opportunities, closing business, and achieving performance goals.
