Key Responsibilities: The technical writer will develop and maintain technical documents for internal and external publication. Document types include owner’s manuals, service & maintenance manuals, service bulletins, as well as other customer and certification support related documents. The technical writer will work closely with representatives from engineering, operations, quality, product support and sales departments in the development of these publications.
Responsibilities also include oversight of document vaulting and the change management workflow for all technical publications within the company PDM (Product Data Management) system. The technical writer will also conduct research related to applications and service requirements for other manufacturer’s products within the general aviation market space. All roles at Signia are expected to support the company’s operating model (SOAR) and contribute to the organization’s business value drivers, Profitable New Business, Productivity, Precision M&A, and Value-Based Pricing, through operational excellence, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.
Key Deliverables of the Position: 1) Write and edit basic technical documentation including manuals, procedures, and user guides. 2) Review engineering drawings, design reports, and technical specifications to gather documentation content. 3) Translate technical concepts into clear, concise language appropriate for the intended audience. 4) Ensure documentation follows company style guides, templates, and documentation standards.
5) Maintain documentation records and assist with revision updates and version control. 6) Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to verify accuracy of technical information. 7) Deliver documentation that supports engineering, manufacturing, and product use requirements. 8) Adherence to defined task schedules.
