Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector ensures that products meet internal and customer quality standards by performing in-process, incoming, and final inspections on the production floor. This role focuses on visual and dimensional inspection of a variety of parts and materials, accurate documentation of inspection results, and timely identification and tagging of non-conforming products.
The Quality Inspector supports continuous quality improvement by maintaining detailed records, using inspection tools effectively, and collaborating closely with production and quality teams. Responsibilities Roam the production floor to perform in-process inspections and verify that products meet established quality standards. Conduct visual checks of products during roaming inspections to identify defects or irregularities.
Perform incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final audits on parts and materials. Carry out visual and simple dimensional inspections on raw materials, plated, anodized, heat-treated, and painted parts. Use hand-held gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges, to measure and verify product dimensions. Generate accurate inspection reports, distribute them to relevant stakeholders, and file them as required.
Document non-conforming products when detected and properly attach Red Tags and Red HC tags to identify and segregate them. Complete and maintain all documentation in accordance with customer and internal requirements, including filing material and product certificates. Utilize computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to record data, prepare reports, and communicate findings.
Support quality assurance and quality control activities by following established procedures and contributing to continuous improvement. Collaborate with production and quality personnel to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Learn and apply proper techniques for using inspection tools and gauges to ensure accurate and consistent measurements. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
