A&P Mechanic, Hagerstown, MD Pay: $48/hr-$57/hr (Per diem splits for those who qualify, lots of OT available) Shift: Must be open to 1st shift and 3rd shift Type of Position: 6 month contract to hire Tools Required, etched and shadowed Job Description Join a highly skilled team performing military ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) modifications on a variety of aircraft, including C-12 and Bombardier Global platforms.

In this role, you repair, replace, and maintain key aircraft components, ensuring mechanical and functional integrity through thorough inspections, testing, and corrective actions. You support complex modification projects and heavy maintenance activities that keep specialized aircraft mission-ready. Responsibilities Perform military ISR modifications on multiple aircraft types, including C-12 and Bombardier Global, following established procedures and technical documentation.

Carry out repairs, replacements, and scheduled maintenance on key aircraft components, airframes, and engines to ensure safe and reliable operation. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of aircraft systems, identifying defective or faulty parts and performing appropriate corrective actions. Execute heavy maintenance tasks and aircraft modification work, including installation, adjustment, and verification of new systems and components.

Fabricate and install wire harnesses and terminations, including COAX, circular military connectors (CIR-MIL), RJ-45 network connectors, D-SUB connectors, and other avionics-related terminations. Work with avionics systems and aircraft modification projects, ensuring proper integration, routing, and securing of wiring and harnesses. Interpret and use technical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals to plan and complete maintenance and modification tasks accurately.

Follow work orders and project plans, completing assigned tasks within specified timelines in a fast-paced hangar and repair station environment. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in accordance with repair station and regulatory requirements. Travel up to 25% of the time as needed to support aircraft maintenance and modification activities at various locations. Operate company vehicles as needed while maintaining a clean driving record and following all safety and regulatory guidelines Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.

Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. Hands-on experience with heavy aircraft maintenance and modification work. Proficiency in wire harness fabrication and aircraft wiring practices. Experience with aircraft modification projects, including mechanical and avionics-related work. Ability to terminate and work with COAX, circular military (CIR-MIL) connectors, RJ-45 network connectors, D-SUB connectors, and other avionics connectors.

Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals. Preferred experience working in an FAA 145 repair station environment. Previous exposure to fast-paced, project-driven maintenance and modification settings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Clean driving record suitable for operating company vehicles when required.
