Job Title: Accountant Job Description We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, general accounting, budgeting, and compliance tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills who can ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, perform detailed account analysis, and investigate and resolve financial discrepancies. Post and reconcile vendor payments and other financial activities to maintain accurate accounting records. Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable activities, including verification, appropriate authorization, and payment of vendors. Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyze variances, and provide recommendations based on financial results.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement. Provide account analysis and financial information to support reporting and business decision-making. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and promote compliance with financial policies and procedures. Support internal and external audits, including preparation of financial information and completion of related deliverables.
Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and federal, state, and local financial requirements. Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen the accuracy and reliability of financial information. Collaborate with Finance team members and other business partners to address accounting issues and implement process improvements.
Essential Skills Proficiency in accounting principles and practices. Experience with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation. Knowledge of month-end closing processes. Competency in managing Accounts Payable and Receivable. Ability to prepare accurate financial reports. Strong analytical skills for financial data analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 2 years of accounting experience.
Work Environment This position offers a direct hire opportunity with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule after six months. The workplace encourages collaboration and continuous improvement in accounting processes. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $78000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
