Assembler - Heavy-Duty Vehicle Manufacturing 1st Shift Job Summary The Assembler is a critical member of our manufacturing team, responsible for building assemblies and subassemblies for heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires the ability to work across multiple assembly stations, follow detailed work instructions, perform quality inspections, and identify process issues that could impact product performance or quality.

Success in this position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Perform assembly operations at multiple workstations while maintaining proper production sequence and workflow. Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, work orders, parts lists, and technical documentation. Assemble mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, wiring, and hose components according to specifications.

Install accessories and vehicle components, including decals, mud flaps, lighting systems, cameras, and other add-on equipment. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, DC tools, brake bleeders, AC charging equipment, cab testers, jib cranes, and other production equipment. Conduct visual inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with engineering and production standards.

Identify assembly defects or process concerns, determine root causes, and collaborate with team members to implement corrective actions. Measure and verify component dimensions using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Apply mechanical assembly principles and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) concepts to ensure proper fit, alignment, and functionality.

Adhere to all safety regulations, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes, tooling, and work instructions. Assist with training and cross-training efforts as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum of six (6) months of relevant manufacturing, assembly, mechanical, or technical experience, or a High School Diploma/GED.

Experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing, construction, automotive, or similar environment. Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds independently and heavier loads with team assistance or mechanical lifting devices. Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16 inch. Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, work orders, and parts lists.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues and assembly defects. Ability to work effectively in a production-line environment and maintain consistent workflow. Willingness and ability to obtain forklift and/or overhead crane certification as required. Ability to obtain EPA 608 and A2L certifications for applicable production areas. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.

Sufficient visual and auditory acuity for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing assembly experience in heavy-duty vehicle, commercial vehicle, or industrial equipment production. Experience with battery-electric vehicle assembly or electric vehicle manufacturing. Experience with frame-up, chassis, or complex vehicle assembly.

HVAC, hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical assembly experience. HVAC/Brazing certification or willingness to complete company-sponsored training. Knowledge of quality assurance practices and inspection techniques. Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Familiarity with GD&T principles and their application within a manufacturing environment.

Experience using ERP systems such as Syteline, ManMan, or similar manufacturing software platform
