Asset Management Data Technician (Entry Level) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Asset Management Data Technician to support data center and facility asset management initiatives. This role is responsible for collecting, validating, auditing, and maintaining equipment records within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The ideal candidate is organized, process-driven, and comfortable working with large datasets and technical equipment information.
Key Responsibilities Enter mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment information into a CMMS platform. Record and verify asset details, including: Asset Tag IDs and barcodes Equipment location and room information Manufacturer, model, and serial numbers Equipment classifications and identifiers Review equipment records for accuracy and completeness. Assign asset categories to newly identified equipment models when required.
Conduct physical asset audits and inventories within operational facilities. Scan and validate existing asset tags against system records. Identify discrepancies and update asset information as needed. Document newly discovered equipment and enter records following established procedures. Work closely with engineering and asset management teams to ensure data quality and compliance standards are met.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to follow standardized procedures and manage multiple tasks effectively. Comfortable working with technical equipment records and databases. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CMMS, EAM, or other asset management systems.
Exposure to maintenance, facilities, or data center environments. Experience working with reporting tools, dashboards, or SQL. Inventory management, auditing, or asset tracking experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
