Job Title: Facilities Carpenter Job Description This role focuses on constructing, installing, and repairing a wide range of structural and finish elements within a dynamic lab, office, and production facility. You will help maintain and improve the building’s integrity and appearance, support ongoing expansion and reconfiguration projects, and ensure that spaces remain safe, functional, and efficient for daily operations.

Responsibilities Construct, install, and repair structural elements such as doors, windows, partitions, and framing throughout the facility. Install and repair finish materials, including drywall, ceiling tiles, carpet, tile, and paint, to maintain a clean and professional environment. Perform basic roof repairs to preserve building integrity and prevent leaks or structural damage. Repair and maintain fixtures, furniture, cabinetry, and shelving in lab, office, and production areas.

Support buildout and reconfiguration of lab, office, and production spaces as the facility expands and project needs evolve. Coordinate with outside contractors on renovation or buildout projects to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification. Use carpentry hand and power tools safely and effectively for construction, installation, and repair tasks. Inspect and identify issues with building systems and fixtures, and propose practical solutions for repair or improvement.

Document work performed and communicate status updates clearly using written and verbal communication. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, maintenance activities, and facility projects. Follow safety procedures and best practices while working in indoor and outdoor areas of a regulated manufacturing environment. Work 1st shift starting at 6:00 a.m., with occasional weekend work as needed to support facility operations and projects.

Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. At least 5+ years of carpentry-related experience. Strong carpentry skills, including framing, finish carpentry, and installation of structural elements. Experience maintaining and repairing roll-up doors. Cross-trade experience in drywall and finishing. Ability to perform basic electrical tasks or general facilities work as needed. Ability to inspect, identify, and provide effective solutions to repair building systems and fixtures.

Must own and be able to use basic carpentry hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Active California driver’s license. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as eMaint or similar systems. Ability to work 1st shift starting at 6:00 a.m., with flexibility for occasional weekend work. Comfort working in an aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a lab, office, and production facility setting. Experience coordinating with outside contractors on renovation or buildout projects. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and general facilities maintenance. Experience installing and repairing drywall, ceiling tiles, carpet, tile, and paint finishes. Ability to perform basic roof repairs.
