Job Title: CNC Swiss Machinist Job Description This role focuses on operating CNC Swiss lathes and centerless grinding machines in a high-precision production environment. You will work closely with a lead machinist to run parts, perform deburring, and verify part quality using blueprints and precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. The position offers structured training on machine operation, part inspection, and the use of G&M codes on Fanuc controllers, supporting your growth as a well-rounded CNC professional.
Responsibilities Operate CNC Swiss lathes, including Star CNC Swiss SR-32J machines, to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. Operate Cincinnati centerless grinders to perform precision grinding operations on production parts. Work alongside a lead machinist to run parts through the machines, following established production processes and quality standards. Perform deburring on machined parts to remove sharp edges and ensure clean, finished components.
Read and interpret blueprints to understand part dimensions, tolerances, and required finishes. Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment to verify accuracy against blueprints and specifications. Perform changeovers and setups on CNC machines, including adjusting tooling, offsets, and fixtures as required. Use G&M codes on Fanuc controllers to run programs, make minor edits, and troubleshoot basic issues during production.
