Job Title: Licensed Journeyman Electrician – School Lighting Retrofit (Evening/Night Shift) Shift: 3:00PM - 1:30AM (Active school site) Pay Rate: $50-60 per hour Per Diem: $150/day worked (If permanent residence is 75 miles away from the job site) Job Description This role focuses on performing lighting retrofit work in school facilities, including electrical installations, upgrades, and lighting system modifications during evening and overnight shifts.

You will work in educational buildings to modernize lighting infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical systems. Responsibilities Perform lighting retrofit work in school facilities, including removal, modification, and replacement of existing lighting systems. Execute electrical installations and upgrades in educational building environments, ensuring all work meets applicable codes and standards.

Install, wire, and connect new lighting fixtures, controls, and related electrical components as part of retrofit projects. Interpret and follow electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics to plan and complete installations accurately. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues encountered during retrofit and installation work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within school facilities, adhering to all safety protocols.

Coordinate work activities to align with evening and overnight schedules, minimizing disruption to school operations. Document completed work, changes, and any issues identified during installations or upgrades. Collaborate with team members and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution and timely completion of tasks. Essential Skills Active Colorado licensed journeyman electrician certification (reciprocal licenses are not accepted).

Proficient knowledge of electrical installation, wiring, and construction practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical drawings. Demonstrated experience performing electrical upgrades and installations in commercial or institutional facilities. Capability to work safely and effectively during evening and overnight shifts. Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices.

Attention to detail and accuracy when installing and modifying lighting systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with lighting retrofit projects in school facilities is a plus. Prior work in educational or similar institutional environments is beneficial. Ability to work a fixed Monday through Thursday schedule on evening and night shifts. Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate work in active school districts.
