Job Title: Concrete Laborer Job Description The concrete laborer supports construction projects by performing foundational concrete work, including rebar tying, pouring concrete into forms, backfilling, and compacting. This role contributes directly to safe, high-quality structures on an active construction site. Responsibilities Tie basic rebar according to project specifications and safety standards.
Pour concrete into forms with attention to proper placement, leveling, and finish quality. Assist with setting up, adjusting, and dismantling concrete forms and related carpentry elements. Perform backfilling with dirt and other materials around completed concrete work. Compact backfill materials using appropriate tools and equipment to ensure stability and proper grade. Support concrete finishing activities, including smoothing, edging, and surface preparation as directed.
Work safely around trenches, heavy equipment, and other trades on an active construction site. Maintain a clean and organized work area in a public open space, being mindful of the general public. Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of tools and equipment. Collaborate with site personnel and trades to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Essential Skills 1–2 years of basic concrete experience in a construction environment.
Hands-on experience with rebar tying and concrete placement. Ability to work with concrete forms, including basic carpentry-related tasks. Familiarity with concrete finishing processes and tools. Understanding of construction site safety practices, particularly around trenches and active trades. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on construction sites with multiple trades present. Comfort working in public open spaces and maintaining awareness of surroundings. Willingness to travel for additional project opportunities when needed. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Albuquerque, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
