Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the commissioning of data centers. This role involves installation support, equipment calibration, wire termination, loop testing, data validation, functional testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of integrated control systems and instrumentation. Responsibilities Support the installation and commissioning of the data center Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS).
Verify and troubleshoot control system I/O wiring. Perform field calibration of instrumentation when required. Conduct loop testing of device data points to verify integration with the SCADA system. Perform functional testing of the control system comprised of PLCs, HMIs, and vendor systems. Document testing progress and results through the use of spreadsheets and online tracking tools such as BIM360 and CxAlloy.
Perform general system troubleshooting of network issues, wiring issues, data point mapping issues, and operational issues. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree. Basic commissioning experience and understanding of control system components, wiring, and networking. Experience with Rockwell PLCs. 3+ years of experience with Controls Commissioning. 3+ years of Ignition experience. Ability to make corrections and troubleshoot/debug.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a Commissioning Engineer. Proficiency with PLC and HMI systems. Familiarity with systems integrators within the Mission Critical Industry. Work Environment The position is based in Grand Rapids, MI, with the project expected to last until September 2027. Candidates may be transferred to a different project site after 3-4 months. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chester, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
