Job Title: Conveyor Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyor systems and related industrial equipment in a highly automated material-handling environment. You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems that support continuous production and packaging operations. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems to ensure reliable and safe operation.
Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, electrical systems, and associated industrial equipment according to established schedules. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic. Support PLC troubleshooting and basic PLC programming adjustments related to conveyor operation and controls. Repair and replace components such as motors, relays, sensors, belts, rollers, and other conveyor parts.
Conduct electrical troubleshooting on 3-phase systems and perform electrical maintenance tasks as needed. Install, route, and maintain electrical conduit and wiring for industrial equipment and conveyor systems. Work with industrial packaging and material-handling equipment, ensuring proper function and minimal downtime. Use mechanical tools and test equipment to identify issues and verify repairs.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in accordance with site procedures. Follow safety procedures while working around moving mechanical parts, elevated areas, and electrical systems. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and technical staff to resolve complex equipment problems. Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance system reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Essential Skills Hands-on experience as a conveyor mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial environment. Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, conveyor maintenance, and conveyor mechanics. Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment. Experience with electrical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance, including 3-phase systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic as it relates to conveyor systems. Experience working with pneumatics and related industrial components. Ability to install and maintain electrical conduit and associated wiring. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Capability to perform preventive maintenance in a structured industrial maintenance program.
Comfort working with industrial packaging and material-handling equipment. Ability to work safely around mechanical, electrical, and elevated work areas. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in highly automated material-handling or distribution environments. Experience supporting industrial controls, with exposure to PLC programming. Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor industrial facility conditions.
Ability to work extended or overtime hours during peak periods when needed. Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with a technical maintenance team. Why Work Here?
