Desktop Support Technician Overview We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support to end users in both onsite and remote environments. This role requires strong customer service skills, hands-on technical support experience, and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of hardware, software, and connectivity issues. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented professional who can effectively communicate with users while resolving technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide desktop and technical support to end users via phone, remote sessions, and in-person assistance. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software systems. Set up and deploy computer equipment, peripherals, and mobile devices. Diagnose and resolve operating system, application, printer, and workstation issues. Document, track, and manage incidents through a ticket management system.
Assist with hardware replacements, system migrations, imaging, and deployment activities. Support user account management and basic access-related requests. Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues and escalate complex problems when necessary. Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware and equipment. Follow established support procedures and service level expectations. Required Qualifications 1-2+ years of hands-on desktop support, technical support, or help desk experience.
Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop systems in a Windows-based environment. Knowledge of hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and workstation support. Basic understanding of networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting. Experience working with incident or ticket management systems. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally as needed. Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in physically demanding positions when required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise desktop environments. Familiarity with hardware deployment, imaging, system upgrades, and migration projects. Knowledge of user account administration and endpoint support processes.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
