Distribution Designer Design the future of power delivery. Build solutions that keep communities connected. We're seeking a Distribution Designer to join a growing Power Distribution Engineering team supporting utility infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll work on the design and delivery of electric distribution systems that power homes, businesses, and communities. You'll collaborate with engineers, field personnel, and clients to develop innovative, high-quality designs while gaining exposure to both office and field operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with utility design experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with stakeholders, and seeing projects move from concept to construction. What You'll Do Design overhead and underground electric distribution projects using GIS and AutoCAD-based tools. Develop construction drawings, design packages, technical specifications, and cost estimates.

Conduct field visits to gather site information, verify existing conditions, and support project development. Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and utility clients to ensure project objectives, schedules, and quality standards are met. Support engineering calculations and design evaluations for distribution system improvements. Coordinate material and equipment requirements to maintain project schedules.

Serve as a technical resource for designers and technicians and provide guidance on assigned projects. Lead smaller design efforts and contribute to project planning, coordination, and execution. Work directly with clients and stakeholders to address project needs and provide excellent service. Ensure all work complies with applicable utility, engineering, and company standards. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering , Electrical Engineering Technology , or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience with electric utility distribution design. Proficiency with GIS platforms such as Smallworld, GWD, or similar systems. Strong AutoCAD or CADD experience. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design standards. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience working for an electric utility, consulting engineering firm, or utility contractor.

Field data collection and site assessment experience. Experience preparing cost estimates and supporting engineering calculations. Prior experience leading design tasks, coordinating projects, or mentoring junior team members. Knowledge of electric distribution systems, surveying, mapping, and utility engineering practices.
