Entry-Level Power Distribution Engineer Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Power Distribution Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with an engineering degree who are eager to build a strong foundation in power systems and electrical distribution. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects while learning from experienced engineers and collaborating across disciplines.

Responsibilities Assist in the design and layout of overhead and underground power distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing to support safe and reliable electrical distribution designs. Support the preparation of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project reports in accordance with industry standards and best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project teams, field engineers, and utility representatives, to ensure coordinated project execution. Conduct site visits to gather field data, verify existing conditions, and support construction activities as needed. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations throughout the design and implementation process.

Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities to help maintain project timelines and resource allocation. Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis programs to develop and refine distribution system designs. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to technical and project-related challenges.

Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new tools, methods, and industry practices within the power distribution field. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a closely related discipline. Foundational knowledge of power distribution principles and distribution system design concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate technical data and develop practical engineering solutions.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for preparing documentation and collaborating with project stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for analysis, documentation, and reporting. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow within the power distribution and electrical engineering field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software to support preparation of engineering drawings. Exposure to GIS tools and power system analysis programs is beneficial for modeling and evaluating distribution networks. Interest in working on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the power distribution sector. Ability to participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting processes with attention to detail and accuracy.

Willingness to conduct site visits and engage with field conditions to better understand the practical aspects of distribution system implementation. Work Environment The work environment combines office-based engineering activities with occasional field visits to project sites. In the office, you will use tools such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis software to develop and refine distribution designs, prepare drawings, and produce technical documentation.
