Job Title: Document Control Technician Job Description The Document Control Technician joins a fast-paced, collaborative Quality Assurance (QA) team and is responsible for formatting, updating, and maintaining controlled documents—such as SOPs, Work Instructions, and Master Batch Records—using Microsoft Word and standardized templates. This role ensures that all documents meet quality and regulatory requirements, remain consistent, and are accurately formatted.

The position requires expert-level word processing skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a regulated documentation environment. Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to ask questions and propose creative solutions are highly valued in this role. Responsibilities Format Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documents using approved templates to ensure consistency and compliance.

Convert existing documents into new template formats while preserving content integrity. Update document headers and footers, correct broken links, apply standardized styles, and fix table formatting issues. Maintain document content accuracy and consistency across SOPs, Work Instructions, and Master Batch Records. Assist with the management of the onsite document control room, including organization and archival of documentation.

Execute the scanning process for GMP records to support electronic record retention. Support document and record migration activities to new systems or repositories. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of document updates and revisions. Apply document control practices in a regulated environment to support quality assurance objectives. Use strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple documents and tasks simultaneously.

Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support team members. Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative QA team in a high-paced environment. Essential Skills Certified Expert in Microsoft Word or equivalent skills, with the ability to demonstrate advanced word processing capabilities. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in document control or administrative support.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and other Office suite tools. Strong word processing and document editing skills, including formatting, styles, tables, and links. Experience working with GMP documents or in a regulated documentation environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and dynamic environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with document control practices in quality assurance environments. Technical writing experience for SOPs, Work Instructions, and other controlled documents. Experience with regulatory or compliance-focused documentation. Strong editing skills to improve clarity, consistency, and accuracy of documents.

Ability to support document and record migration activities between systems. Demonstrated ability to think critically, ask questions, and propose creative solutions. Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Work Environment This position is based 100% onsite, with the potential for a hybrid schedule once the individual is fully trained and acclimated. The role operates in a high-paced, dynamic Quality Assurance environment that focuses on GMP and regulated documentation.

Work is primarily computer-based, using Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications to manage, format, and archive controlled documents.
