Job Title: Drafter/Designer Job Description The Mechanical Designer Drafter is responsible for creating 3D piping and equipment models and involves drafting, designing, and detailing various projects in coordination with engineers. The role requires performing regular and recurring designer/drafter duties independently, adhering to established policies, procedures, and practices. The designer will prepare detailed drawings of mechanical layouts, plans, equipment, and piping according to specifications provided by the engineering team and customers.
Responsibilities Create 3D models of piping and equipment. Draft, design, and detail various mechanical projects. Coordinate with engineers to ensure design accuracy. Prepare detailed mechanical layouts, plans, equipment, and piping drawings. Follow established policies, procedures, and practices independently. Essential Skills Proficiency in design, AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Solidworks. Strong skills in mechanical design and 3D modeling.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills. Technical proficiency and superior organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal instruction. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional or Bluebeam Revu. Experience with CADWorx Plant 3D. Familiarity with document tracking databases. Ability to maintain accurate records.
Work Environment This position requires in-person attendance. The work environment involves collaboration with engineers and adherence to established policies and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
