Job Title: Electrical Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling large electrical control panels that operate industrial water jet systems. You will start by working on aluminum backing panels, installing breakers and other components, and progress to wiring and completing full control units. The position requires hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly, careful adherence to electronic work orders and standard operating procedures, and consistent use of hand tools and test equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities Assemble large electrical control panels for water jet machinery from aluminum backing panels through to fully completed units. Install initial breakers and other electrical components onto aluminum backing panels according to electronic work orders and standard operating procedures. Perform wiring of control panels, control cabinets, and electrical enclosures using cables, connectors, and appropriate terminations.

Assemble electrical enclosures and control cabinets, including power supplies and related mechanical components. Use hand tools and mechanical assembly techniques to build subassemblies and integrate them into complete systems. Perform cable assembly, including cutting, routing, labeling, and securing cables within panels and enclosures. Crimp terminals and connectors accurately and consistently using appropriate crimping tools and methods.

Solder electrical connections and components as required to ensure reliable and high-quality joints. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, PFDs, and other technical documentation to guide assembly and wiring. Use ohm meters and volt meters to troubleshoot and verify electrical continuity, voltage levels, and proper operation of assemblies. Identify and resolve basic electrical and mechanical issues during assembly, escalating complex problems as needed.

Follow all electronic SOPs and work orders, updating and confirming completion steps using computer-based systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Lift, move, and position sheet metal and assembled components as needed, using carts and other equipment safely. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and subassembly work using common hand tools. Proficiency in soldering electrical components and connections. Proficiency in crimping electrical terminals and connectors for cable assemblies. Experience with cable assembly, including routing, securing, and terminating cables.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and related technical documentation. Basic electrical knowledge, including running cables and understanding power supplies and circuits. Experience troubleshooting electrical assemblies using ohm meters and volt meters. Proficiency in reading and writing in English to follow electronic SOPs and work orders. Basic computer skills to access and work with electronic work orders and documentation.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented approach to work with a strong focus on quality. Ability to work effectively as a team player in a production environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion and handle moving sheet metal weighing approximately 50–75 lbs. Ability to stand and be on your feet for a full 10-hour shift. Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with repetitive tasks and consistent output expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Vocational or accredited certifications in the electrical or mechanical field are preferred. Experience with mechanical assembly or repair beyond small or circuit board-only work is highly valued. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles o
