Job Title: Electrical Quality Inspector (Days) . Job Description This role focuses on performing high‑voltage electrical quality inspections and testing on custom-engineered electrical equipment used in energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure applications. You will work within the electrical assembly department to verify product quality through detailed testing, measurements, documentation, and collaboration with a bilingual workforce, helping ensure that complex electrical gear meets stringent performance and safety standards.
. Responsibilities Perform high voltage electrical testing on assembled units using multimeters, megohmmeters, contact resistance testers, and other specialized electrical test equipment. Conduct Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, contact resistance, functional operation, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on electrical assemblies to verify performance and safety. Carry out visual inspections of welds, mechanical components, and overall assembly quality to identify defects or nonconformances.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to validate that assemblies meet design specifications and quality requirements. Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other instruments to confirm dimensional accuracy and adherence to tolerances. Prepare detailed inspection reports and nonconformance reports (NCRs), documenting findings, test results, and any deviations from standards.
Lead or participate in root cause investigations for quality issues, identifying underlying causes and recommending effective corrective and preventive actions. Communicate clearly with both English- and Spanish-speaking team members to coordinate inspections, share findings, and support production and quality goals. Support quality audits and quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry standards.
. . Essential Skills 5+ years of quality control inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with high voltage electrical inspection and electrical testing equipment. Proficiency using multimeters, megohmmeters, and contact resistance testers for electrical testing. Strong knowledge of Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, contact resistance, and functional operation tests. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Experience preparing inspection reports and nonconformance reports (NCRs). Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause investigations for quality issues. Experience in quality control, quality assurance, auditing, and inspection within a production environment. . Work Environment The role is based in a medium-sized shop in Pasadena, Texas, with plans to transition into a large, approximately 600,000-square-foot facility in Pasadena, Texas. The operation is part of a network of multiple clean, organized facilities within a business park, including electrical assembly, welding, machining, and powder coating shops, and you may float between these areas as needed.
The production environment is non-climate-controlled with numerous fans to increase air flow. The day shift schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m ., with about 11 hours p
