Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description The Engineering Technician will support the launch of advanced battery module manufacturing and battery pack assembly operations in Mason, OH. This role goes beyond traditional technician work, focusing on precision manufacturing, electronics assembly, automated test systems, and other high-quality production environments. The technician will perform battery assembly, wire bonding, electrical testing, inspection, and process verification, working closely with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure systems are produced safely, consistently, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities Follow standardized work instructions and established manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent and reliable production. Maintain accurate production records and traceability documentation to support quality compliance and process tracking. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization activities to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Support manufacturing quality initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce defects. Perform battery testing and validation to confirm performance and reliability of modules and packs. Conduct functional testing of battery modules and battery pack systems using appropriate test equipment and tools. Record and document manufacturing and test results thoroughly for traceability and adherence to quality standards.

Identify abnormalities, failures, or potential issues during testing or production and escalate concerns promptly through appropriate channels. Support the assembly of battery modules and battery pack systems, ensuring precise and consistent build quality. Maintain strict adherence to safety, handling, and quality requirements during all battery assembly and manufacturing activities. Support high-quality manufacturing processes by monitoring production steps and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Operate and support precision manufacturing equipment, including ultrasonic wire bonding systems and related assembly equipment. Assist with setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of specialized manufacturing and test equipment. Monitor process consistency, identify potential quality concerns, and communicate issues to engineering or quality teams as needed. Collaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support new product introduction and ongoing production.

Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning within the manufacturing environment. Essential Skills 2–6+ years of hands-on technical experience in a technical manufacturing environment such as electronics manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, battery manufacturing, medical device production, automotive electronics, or other precision manufacturing environments. Experience utilizing various manufacturing testing equipment and tools, including electronic test instruments.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on precision assemblies and manufacturing equipment. Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with electronic components and systems. Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related technical discipline. Experience working within established quality standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing procedures accurately. Ability to identify and document test results, abnormalities, and failures clearly and systematically. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with engineering and electronics in a production or prototype environment. Hands-on troubleshooting skills for manufacturing and test equipment. Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and related diagnostic tools.
