Job Title: Facilities Technician Job Description The Building Facilities and Maintenance Technician ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of building facilities and equipment. This role performs routine inspections, troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implements preventive maintenance plans to support the longevity, safety, and efficiency of the building infrastructure and associated machinery.

Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of building facilities to identify and address maintenance needs in a timely manner. Repair and maintain building systems, including lighting, fans, motors, and water pipes, to ensure safe and reliable operation. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable safety regulations, building codes, and company standards. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs, maintenance services, and inspections as needed.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on building equipment and systems. Repair or replace defective parts in machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety practices.

Verify that machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and according to manufacturer guidelines. Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance-related issues and support operational needs. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, including proper storage and use of tools and equipment. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues to reduce disruption to operations.

Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete maintenance and repair tasks. Essential Skills Experience in building facilities maintenance, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems and components. Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and hydraulics troubleshooting. Electrical troubleshooting skills for building systems, machinery, and equipment.

Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and safe work practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues and other departments. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple maintenance activities simultaneously.

Strong track record of reliable attendance and punctuality. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability and willingness to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces and at heights. Ability and willingness to stand, walk, and perform physical work for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical aptitude and interest in expanding electrical maintenance skills.

Previous experience working with engines, equipment, or machinery. Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on electrical and mechanical systems. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. Openness to learning new systems, equipment, and maintenance techniques. Why Work Here?
