Description Key Responsibilities • Design and develop aerial and underground fiber optic network routes. • Create and maintain fiber network designs, splice diagrams, and fiber allocation plans. • Develop construction-ready engineering drawings and supporting documentation. • Utilize GIS mapping tools to analyze existing infrastructure and design network expansions. • Generate and maintain fiber routing, network records, and as-built documentation.
• Support fiber splicing plans, network mapping, and fiber asset management. • Coordinate with construction contractors, field engineers, and permitting teams during project execution. • Perform network capacity planning and route optimization. • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, customer requirements, and industry best practices. • Review field data and incorporate updates into final network designs.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during construction and implementation. Skills Osp, ADSS, GPON, GIS, Telecom, splicing Top Skills Details Osp,ADSS,GPON,GIS Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. • Previous experience with GIS software and mapping platforms.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic network design principles and architecture. • Knowledge of fiber construction practices, including: o Fiber splicing o Fiber mapping and documentation o Route planning o Construction workflows • Experience creating splice diagrams and fiber assignment documentation. • Ability to interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and technical specifications. • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) design and deployment. • Knowledge of ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) fiber design and aerial applications. • Experience with OSP (Outside Plant) engineering and telecommunications infrastructure projects. • Familiarity with fiber management and design platforms such as IQGeo, Vetro, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Understanding of utility pole attachment requirements and aerial construction standards. • Experience supporting FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) or FTD network deployments. Desired Skills • Attention to detail and data accuracy. • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and construction teams.
• Experience working in a fast-paced telecommunications environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
