Job Title: Forklift Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift Job Description We are seeking an experienced 2nd shift forklift operator to safely and efficiently move materials throughout a large warehouse environment. In this role, you will operate a propane-powered forklift to load and unload trailers, support shipping and receiving activities, and perform basic equipment maintenance and housekeeping to keep the facility running smoothly.
Responsibilities Operate a propane-powered forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the plant and warehouse. Load and unload trailers, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations. Perform daily basic maintenance on the forklift, including checking oil levels and completing routine safety checks. Follow established safety procedures and maintain awareness of multiple forklifts operating in the facility at all times.
Carry out general housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Complete required documentation of work performed, including material movement and shipping and receiving records. Support material handling activities such as order picking, staging materials, and preparing products for shipment. Assist with shipping and receiving operations, including verifying materials, organizing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring accurate handling.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity and quality standards. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow and address any issues promptly. Essential Skills At least 2 years of previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or plant environment. Proven ability to safely operate a propane-powered forklift in a busy, high-traffic facility.
Ability to work 2nd shift hours, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple forklifts operating simultaneously. Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions, complete documentation, and comply with safety procedures. Strong attention to safety and adherence to established protocols and equipment checks. Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled 2nd shift hours.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in material handling, including order picking, staging, and organizing materials. Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting. Familiarity with working in a large warehouse environment handling cardboard and other packaging materials. Ability to maintain accurate records of material movement and completed tasks. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy facility.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
