Forklift Operator

Job Title: Forklift Operator (Afternoon Shift) Job Description This role focuses on performing shipping and receiving activities in a fast-paced less-than-truckload (LTL) environment using both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. You will handle a wide variety of products, accurately manage inventory with RF scanners, and safely load and unload freight in a busy cross-dock setting. Responsibilities Perform daily shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trailers and trucks.

Operate sit-down and stand-up counterbalance forklifts for the entire shift to move, stack, and organize freight. Use RF scanners to accurately enter, track, and verify inventory in the warehouse management system. Handle a wide variety of products, including palletized and non-palletized freight, and safely manipulate them using the forklift. Work efficiently in an LTL or cross-dock environment, moving freight between docks and staging areas.

Ensure all loads are properly secured and positioned to prevent damage during transport. Follow safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts and working around other material handling equipment. Read and interpret shipping documents, labels, and instructions in English to ensure correct routing and handling. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including dock and staging zones. Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to coordinate loading, unloading, and inventory movements.

Essential Skills Certified on a sit-down counterbalance forklift with a minimum of 1 year of experience. Previous experience in an LTL, warehouse, or cross-dock shipping environment. Hands-on material handling experience, including loading and unloading trailers or trucks. Proficiency using RF scanners to record and manage inventory. Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions and shipping documentation.

Shift Timing Afternoon shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
