Forklift Operator

Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description This role operates sit-down forklifts to support production and material handling activities across a multi-shift operation. You safely move, load, and organize materials to ensure efficient workflow and timely production. The position offers opportunities on both 1st and 2nd shift to support around-the-clock operations. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials within the facility.

Support production operations by staging materials, supplying lines, and removing finished goods as needed. Perform general material handling tasks, including organizing, stacking, and relocating products in designated areas. Follow all safety procedures and site-specific guidelines while operating forklifts and handling materials. Inspect forklifts before use and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate contact.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in production and storage zones. Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available where and when they are needed. Accurately follow directions regarding material movement, storage locations, and production priorities. Essential Skills Proven forklift experience, specifically operating a sit-down forklift in a production or material handling environment.

Demonstrated ability to perform safe and efficient material handling tasks. Experience working in a production or manufacturing setting. Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions consistently. Capability to work assigned shift hours reliably on either 1st or 2nd shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience supporting production lines with material supply and removal.

Familiarity with basic equipment inspection and reporting procedures. Strong attention to detail when organizing and moving materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tanner, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.83 - $21.83/hr.
