Job Title: General Laborer / Baler Job Description This entry-level general laborer/baler role offers a wide variety of internal growth opportunities within a fast-paced production environment. The position is ideal for a motivated, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined individual seeking a long-term career. The primary function of the role is to move and palletize pre-wrapped bundles of paper bags at the end of a bag production conveyor line, while supporting overall production and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Responsibilities Follow production orders to stack 10–50 pound bundles of paper bags onto pallets in an accurate and efficient manner. Wrap bundles using tape to secure product for transport and storage. Use a manual pallet jack as needed to move pallets and materials around the production area. Sort and lift pallets to support smooth material flow and organization in the facility. Operate as a baler on 3–5 machine lines per shift, ensuring consistent output and quality.
Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the production area clean, organized, and safe. Adhere to all safety and quality procedures and guidelines while performing daily tasks. Remain open and flexible to working day, swing, or graveyard shifts as required with proper notice. Carry out other duties as assigned to support production operations and team objectives. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently throughout the shift.
Ability to walk approximately 3–4 miles per shift in a production environment. Mechanical inclination and comfort working around production machinery. Willingness and desire to eventually move into a machine operator role. Openness to working day, swing, and graveyard shifts with proper notice. Strong focus on safety and quality in all tasks. Ability to perform manual labor for the duration of the shift.
Capability to use a manual pallet jack safely and effectively. Ability to provide and wear steel-toed shoes as part of required attire. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor, construction, production, or material handling is beneficial. Experience in loading and unloading materials is an advantage. Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment. Interest in long-term career growth within a production facility.

Employees may work day (7:00am–3:00pm), swing (3:00pm–11:00pm), or graveyard (11:00pm–7:00am) shifts, and must be open to all three with appropriate notice. The environment involves handling bundles of paper bags, operating manual pallet jacks, and maintaining housekeeping standards to keep the workspace organized. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the dress code to support safe operations in the production area.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.
