Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role focuses on hands-on production work with plastic PVC piping in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will gradually build proficiency in bending and handling PVC pipe, while supporting packaging and light trimming tasks as you gain experience. The position involves consistent physical activity and offers the opportunity to learn multiple aspects of general production and assembly.
Responsibilities Bend plastic PVC piping, typically ranging from approximately 7 to 9 inches in size, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Gradually increase bending workload over time to build strength and efficiency, moving from a mixed schedule of bending and packaging to primarily bending tasks. Perform packaging duties for PVC piping and related products, ensuring items are correctly packed and prepared for shipment.
Trim excess plastic from PVC piping to meet quality standards and product specifications. Support general production and assembly activities as needed, including basic machine operation and general labor tasks. Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items up to 20 pounds as part of daily work. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safety. Follow all workplace safety rules and guidelines, including proper use of tools and equipment.
Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to ensure production goals and quality standards are met. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to stand for long periods of time during the workday. Experience or comfort with general production or general labor tasks. Basic assembly skills in a manufacturing or similar environment. Capability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as bending and trimming.
Attention to detail when trimming excess plastic and packaging products. Reliability and willingness to follow established processes and safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with packaging in a production or warehouse environment. Exposure to machine operation in a manufacturing setting. Forklift experience is a plus but not required. Previous work in general production, general labor, or assembly is beneficial.

Work Environment This position is based in a non–temperature-controlled production facility, where conditions can vary with the seasons. You will spend most of your time on your feet, working around production equipment, PVC piping, and packaging materials. The environment is active and physically demanding, with regular lifting, bending, and standing throughout the shift. Dress comfortably and appropriately for a manufacturing setting, with practical clothing and footwear suitable for safety and extended periods of standing.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
