Job Title: Production Worker Job Description As a Production Worker, you will operate and monitor production processes including mixing, extrusion, polishing, and finishing. You will be responsible for measuring and loading ingredients, running equipment, transferring batches, and ensuring product quality meets specifications. Responsibilities Read and follow manufacturing order instructions to gather, measure, weigh, and document ingredients needed for mixing.
Load ingredients, which may weigh up to 50 lbs., into a mixer and blend them based on time specifications. Unload the mixer and transfer the mixed batch to the next process. Process mixed batches through extrusion equipment to create the finished product. Conduct product sensory evaluations to ensure the finished product matches customer specifications throughout the extrusion process. Manage and transfer finished products from extrusion and drying processes using drums, carts, or trays.
Apply the 'finishing touch' on products using the panning process by loading finished products into polishing pans and adding liquid ingredients by hand or automation. Essential Skills 1+ year of recent manufacturing experience in production. Experience with mixing, extrusion, batching, polishing, and finishing is preferred. Ability to use hand tools such as RF scanners, hand trucks, and sifting screeners.
Capacity to lift/move up to 56 lbs. with or without accommodation. Strong English and math skills; ability to read/write and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, and shipping documents. Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays; reliable, flexible, and a team player. Additional Skills & Qualifications Training provided for candidates with less experience. Work Environment Work shifts include 1st shift from 3:00 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 2nd shift from 2:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Required to sanitize boots and wash and sanitize hands before entering each room. The facility includes 8 production rooms and 4 packaging lines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
