Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This hands-on production role focuses on loading and operating metal stamping equipment, organizing finished parts, and preparing concrete wall ties for storage and shipment. You work directly with mechanical machinery to process thin aluminum sheet metal, ensure accurate cutting and punching, and complete finishing tasks such as tying and spray painting according to order specifications.
The position requires consistent attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a repetitive manufacturing environment while following safety procedures. Responsibilities Load production machines with rolls of thin aluminum sheet metal in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor metal stamping equipment as it punches holes and cuts material to size, ensuring proper machine operation.
Collect processed metal pieces from a small conveyor belt and organize them accurately for further handling. Tie completed concrete wall ties together securely using metal wire according to production requirements. Transport bundled wall ties to the designated storage area using appropriate material handling practices. Spray paint the ends of ties according to specific order and color-coding specifications.
Maintain consistent attention to detail to ensure correct sizing, organization, and color coding of all parts. Work safely around mechanical machinery and follow established workplace safety procedures at all times. Perform repetitive general labor and production tasks while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Support overall machine shop operations and assist with general production duties as needed.
Essential Skills Ability to work effectively in a repetitive, hands-on manufacturing environment. Comfort working with mechanical machinery and metal stamping equipment (no programming required). Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and the ability to follow established procedures. Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 50–65 pounds on a repetitive basis. Strong attention to detail to ensure proper organization, sizing, and color coding of finished parts.
Reliability and consistency in performing general production and general labor tasks. Comfort working in a metalworking and machine shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, general labor, or general production roles. Background in metal stamping, metalworking, or working in a metal shop. Exposure to machine shop operations and fabrication environments. Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts and equipment.
Experience around tools such as drill presses or other fabrication machinery. Ability to read and follow basic instructions and production orders. During the winter, the space stays warm due to the machines running continuously. You work around active mechanical equipment and metalworking operations, performing physical tasks and heavy lifting as part of daily production activities.
