Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator Job Description The Human Resources Coordinator supports both administrative operations and core HR functions within a fast-paced, mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role focuses on ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations, coordinating administrative tasks, and providing reliable support to the HR team. The position also assists with recruiting and onboarding activities, including scheduling, candidate communication, and documentation.
It is well-suited for a highly organized professional with strong customer service skills, administrative experience, and a friendly, outgoing personality who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to meaningful organizational goals. Responsibilities Serve as a primary administrative support resource for the HR department and overall office operations. Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and calendars for HR-related activities and department initiatives.
Assist with recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding coordination as needed. Support Experience check processing and the completion and tracking of onboarding documentation. Maintain accurate employee and candidate records within UKG, the applicant tracking system (ATS), and other internal HR systems. Assist with vendor coordination, invoice processing, and general office administration tasks.
Provide excellent customer service to employees, candidates, visitors, and external partners, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience. Help maintain organized files, records, and administrative workflows to support efficient HR operations. Support recruiting and talent acquisition efforts during periods of increased hiring activity. Collaborate with HR leadership and HR team members to support departmental goals, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Skills Previous experience in administrative, office support, receptionist, customer service, or coordinator roles. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including solid experience using Excel. Strong computer literacy and data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and professionalism. Professional demeanor with a positive, friendly, and approachable personality. Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a commitment to supporting daily office and HR operations. Experience supporting office operations and administrative processes in a professional setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with HR support, HR administration, and general human resources functions.
Experience in recruiting coordination and talent acquisition support. Hands-on experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR systems, including UKG. Ability to build positive relationships with employees, candidates, and external partners through strong customer service. Work Environment This position is fully onsite in Cromwell, CT and operates Monday through Friday with an eight-hour workday, with flexible start times between 8:00 a.m.
and 9:00 a.m. The role supports a growing nonprofit organization that operates multiple schools and programs serving children and adults with disabilities, offering the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission while gaining career growth within the HR department.
