Job Title: HVAC Journeyman Job Description This role focuses on the installation of HVAC fan coil units in a data center environment, working at height from lifts to install and connect piping systems for hot water, chilled water, and condensate. You will work under the direction of an on-site foreman and contribute to high-quality mechanical installations in a critical facility setting. Responsibilities Install HVAC fan coil units in the ceiling, ensuring proper alignment, secure mounting, and adherence to specifications.
Perform all high work at approximately 17 feet using lifts, following safety procedures and site guidelines. Install and connect seamless black pipe (MegaPress) for hot water and chilled water systems, ensuring tight, leak-free joints. Install CPVC piping for condensate lines and verify proper routing, support, and drainage. Coordinate work activities under the direction of the on-site skilled foreman and follow all instructions and project plans.
Verify system connections and assist with checks to ensure fan coil units and piping are installed correctly and ready for commissioning. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment. Follow all safety protocols, including safe use of lifts and working at height, and report any hazards or issues promptly. Essential Skills Proven experience as an HVAC journeyman performing installation work on HVAC systems.
Hands-on experience installing and working with seamless black pipe using MegaPress fittings. Experience installing CPVC piping for condensate or similar applications. Ability to install and set HVAC fan coil units in ceiling spaces. Capability and comfort working off lifts at heights of approximately 17 feet. Strong understanding of construction site practices and mechanical installation standards.
Ability to follow direction from a foreman and work effectively as part of a supervised team. Commitment to safe work practices, especially when working at height and in critical facility environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
