Job Title: HVAC Technician Job Description We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform maintenance and service on commercial HVAC units. The role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of various equipment including pumps, compressors, furnaces, air conditioning systems, cooling towers, fan coil units, refrigeration, and split-systems. The technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair using hand tools and power tools such as multi-meters, pressure gauges, crimpers, and channel locks.

Additionally, reading blueprints and schematics, understanding electrical theory, and using a CMMS to complete work orders are part of the job responsibilities. Responsibilities Perform maintenance on and service commercial HVAC units. Install, repair, and maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, furnaces, air conditioning, cooling towers, fan coil units, refrigeration, and split-systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair using hand tools and power tools like multi-meters, pressure gauges, crimpers, and channel locks.

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Understand electrical theory. Use a CMMS to complete work orders. Support equipment startups, commissioning activities, and installation validation on larger projects. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years experience performing service on HVAC systems. Experience working on commercial units. Experience with boilers and chillers, including preventative maintenance and repairs.

Experience taking service calls, making repairs, and documenting work. EPA certification, either Universal or 608. Knowledge of electrical, boiler systems, chillers, and preventive maintenance. Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems. Experience in commissioning and equipment installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with commissioning, install validations, and equipment startups is a plus.

Technical degree from a trade or vocational school is ideal. Experience working with job notes and completing work orders in CMMS is preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is within the preventative maintenance and service division for the Metro, Davidson County account, working on government buildings including police and fire departments, warehouses, health department buildings, libraries, and administrative buildings. The shift is Monday-Friday, 1st shift, with a minimum of 40 hours and 5-10 hours of weekly overtime expected. There is an on-call schedule with rotations every 2 months, typically on-call no more than 8 times per year.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
