Description PHEAA is seeking a Kubernetes Administrator to support and manage their on-premises Kubernetes environment. This is not a Kubernetes Developer or Application Support role. The focus is on Kubernetes platform administration, environment setup, cluster management, infrastructure support, and ongoing maintenance. The client uses on-prem Rancher K3s and Kubernetes and is looking for someone who can quickly contribute without requiring training on Kubernetes fundamentals.
They are willing to train on their specific environment and processes, but candidates must already possess strong Kubernetes administration experience. Skills Windows, Linux, Systems engineering, Automation, Rancher, K3s Top Skills Details Windows,Linux,Systems engineering,Automation,Rancher,K3s Additional Skills & Qualifications Must-Have Skills Kubernetes Administration (production environments) Experience building, configuring, and managing Kubernetes clusters Rancher experience strongly preferred Linux Administration experience (Enterprise Linux environments) Kubernetes manifests (YAML) creation and troubleshooting Helm chart administration and maintenance Strong networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing) Bash and/or Python scripting Infrastructure troubleshooting and operational support Git experience Security and system hardening experience What the Client Is NOT Looking For Candidates whose Kubernetes experience is limited to deploying applications into existing clusters Pure Software Developers Application Support Engineers DevOps candidates with minimal cluster administration experience The candidate should understand pod deployment, but the primary responsibility is administration and management of the Kubernetes platform itself.
This is a Kubernetes Administrator role focused on managing the platform and infrastructure, not an application deployment or software development role. Experience administering Kubernetes clusters in production environments is required. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Harrisburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
