Company looking for Lead Service Technician!! Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Service Technician responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery. This role involves arriving at the service office each day, preparing for assignments, and responding promptly to service requests while engaging with service leadership to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities Receive and respond to requests for equipment maintenance and repair. Prepare for daily assignments by arriving at the service office and reviewing service call-outs. Turn in previous day's paperwork including service tickets, timesheets, and parts request forms. Engage with service leadership to review day's service call-outs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Advise leadership of any gaps in capabilities due to parts or equipment requirements.
Ensure assignments include a point-of-contact for each facility. Load the service vehicle with required parts or resources. Proceed to customer site and initiate customer engagement. Ensure adequate, legal parking upon arrival and make initial contact with the point-of-contact. Confirm the nature of the service call and working restrictions with the point-of-contact. Execute service or repair procedures, assess equipment behavior, and perform preventative maintenance.
Complete paperwork and re-engage with the point-of-contact for review and signature. Provide oversight and commissioning at new equipment installations. Ensure third-party partners have installed equipment per specifications, and report discrepancies to leadership. Essential Skills Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and electromechanical equipment. Understanding of electrical principles, including Ohm’s Law and motor functions.
Knowledge of hydraulic principles such as force multiplication, pressure, and cavitation. Proficiency in programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives. Ability to troubleshoot vehicle detection loops and loop detectors. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with customers and complete necessary paperwork. Basic computer and tablet software skills for equipment interfacing and paperwork.
Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma. Minimum 3-5 years of field service experience in electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical machine repair. Computer training preferred. Work Environment Work hours are Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM, reporting to the office in Kearny. The majority of work occurs in NYC, alongside a full-time technician. This role guarantees a 40-hour workweek, providing stability and consistency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kearny, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
