Job Title: Licensed Surveyor Job Description The Licensed Surveyor leads, coordinates, and delivers land surveying projects from initiation through completion, overseeing both field and office survey teams. This role ensures accurate data collection, efficient data processing, and high-quality survey deliverables that meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal expectations. The Licensed Surveyor manages project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships while providing technical expertise in boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.

Responsibilities Lead and oversee land surveying projects from initial planning through final delivery, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget. Direct and coordinate field survey crews and office staff to ensure accurate data collection, efficient processing, and high-quality outputs. Perform and review survey calculations to validate accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Provide technical guidance and support on boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys. Ensure proper use and calibration of GPS, robotic instruments, total stations, and related surveying equipment. Interpret construction plans, legal documents, and survey records to support project design, layout, and boundary determinations. Prepare, review, and maintain clear documentation, reports, and survey deliverables for internal and client use.

Communicate effectively with clients, project stakeholders, and team members to manage expectations and maintain strong relationships. Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, proactively addressing issues and changes to keep projects on track. Mentor and support junior staff, promoting skill development, technical growth, and adherence to best practices. Ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory standards, professional guidelines, and internal quality expectations.

Essential Skills Active Professional Surveyor and Mapper license in Florida. Proven experience leading survey crews and coordinating field and office survey activities. Strong proficiency in GPS and robotic surveying instruments. Hands-on experience with total stations and equipment such as Topcon and Trimble GPS systems. Ability to perform accurate survey calculations and verify data integrity. Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and preparing survey drawings and deliverables.

Solid understanding of land surveying principles, equipment, and techniques. Experience interpreting construction plans and legal documents related to boundaries and property descriptions. Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, organized, and comprehensive reports. Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and coordinate survey personnel.

Capability to manage project scope, schedules, and budgets in a professional services environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys. Experience in project lifecycle management within land surveying or related disciplines. Interest in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development and training. Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in data collection, processing, and deliverables.

Work Environment This position operates in a fully remote work environment (quarterly travel to Fort Lauderdale), providing flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with field and office teams.
