Machine Operator & Assembler Job Description As a Machine Operator reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for efficiently running the production line. This involves operating machinery, ensuring proper feeding of raw materials through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and preparing products for shipment.

Ensure products meet established quality specifications. Document quality checks and production numbers.
Operate counterbalance, propane-powered forklifts. Identify items contributing to downtime using computerized systems and hand-written production reports. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in machine operation. Experience with production, manufacturing, and quality checks. Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds routinely. Comfortable standing for extended periods. Proficient in operating forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred. Good communication skills. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. 1+ year sit-down forklift experience preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a non-climate-controlled, high-production industrial manufacturing shingle plant. The facility includes stairs, catwalks, and heights. Employees must be able to work a Dupont Schedule, which involves rotating shifts of days and nights with some weekends. PPE requirements include steel-toed boots, long sleeves, pants, hearing protection, and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.28 - $22.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
