Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant Job Description Join a dynamic team on the day shift, Monday through Thursday from 5am to 3:30pm, in a role that offers growth and skill development opportunities. The position is within the Northwest’s largest independent corrugated box manufacturer, known for producing top-quality packaging products using state-of-the-art converting equipment. Responsibilities Learn to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of converting equipment.
Effectively learn and apply established quality control procedures. Execute position responsibilities as they pertain to the assigned work center. Read and follow order specification documents. Consistently work to develop or enhance skill set. Work effectively with co-workers and establish a team approach to achieve company goals and expectations. Follow all company rules and policies. Successfully work in multiple areas of the converting plant and perform to expectations.
Essential Skills Ability to read and write English. Mechanical inclination and ability to learn new skills within a standard timeline. Comfortable around heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment. Ability to mentally and physically perform at a high pace with a sense of urgency while maintaining company expectations of Safety, Quality, and Productivity. Basic math knowledge and ability to read a tape measure.
Strong attention to detail. Ability to work overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Authorization to work in the U.S. Pass drug screen and physical abilities test. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes a very large facility that can get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees will work with various machines such as the 112" Multiflute Corrugator, 62" Single Face Laminator, and several Rotary Die Cutters, Flexo Folder Gluers, and Specialty Folder Gluers.
The facility emphasizes teamwork and physical capability, requiring workers to lift up to 75 lbs at times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Renton, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.30 - $24.30/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
