Maintenance Technician - 32-38/hr

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing facility. The role requires strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, proven troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support in-house repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

4 day work week, 5:00am - 3:30pm (You get to choose to work either Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday) Responsibilities Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of tools and equipment. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, control systems, wiring, and other industrial equipment.

Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments. Install new equipment and machinery, including electrical wiring, control panels, conduit, and mechanical components, ensuring proper setup and safe operation. Assist with facility upgrades and modifications, supporting continuous improvement of production equipment and infrastructure.

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety, and suggest and implement solutions to recurring problems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections within the CMMS program, ensuring documentation is complete and up to date. Order necessary parts and materials in a timely manner to support repairs and preventive maintenance activities.

Collaborate closely with other maintenance personnel, production teams, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and minimize equipment downtime. Coordinate contractor work as needed or as assigned by leadership, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with facility standards. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by leadership to support overall plant operations. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 480V systems. Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment. Experience with pneumatic systems and components. Ability to work with PLC-based systems for troubleshooting and support. Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

Strong commitment to safety practices, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage. Proficiency in using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities. Ability to diagnose issues on older and newer production machinery, including presses and cutting equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with automation systems in a manufacturing or printing environment.

Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) for motor control and troubleshooting. Background in printing operations, particularly with printing presses, slitters, and cutters. Machining experience for fabrication and repair of mechanical components. Ability to identify and implement improvements in equipment reliability and efficiency. Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with maintenance and production teams.
