Job Description This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to develop and grow within an industrial environment, working on high-speed and printing machinery. The position focuses on industrial maintenance rather than operations and involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, including AC and DC controls, motors, drives, PLCs, and sensing devices.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a desire to advance through structured training and skill-based progression. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on industrial equipment, including high-speed machinery and printing machinery. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Work with AC and DC electrical controls, including AC and DC motors and drive controls. Use PLC knowledge to check inputs and outputs and support control system troubleshooting. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and resolve issues. Use meters and multimeters to test, diagnose, and verify electrical circuits and components. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot photoelectric and proximity sensing devices.
Operate and maintain encoders and related feedback devices used in industrial equipment. Work with 480V, 3-phase electrical systems in a safe and compliant manner. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed. Use Allen-Bradley and other industrial control components during maintenance activities. Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to complete repairs and projects efficiently.
Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate stakeholders. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Technical school education in a related field preferred. 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience required; 3+ years preferred in industrial maintenance and electrical work.
Hands-on electrical experience with 480V, 3-phase systems. Familiarity with AC and DC electrical controls, including AC and DC motors and drive controls. PLC knowledge, including the ability to check inputs and outputs for troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. Ability to read and use meters and multimeters for diagnostics. Experience with troubleshooting and performing preventive and predictive maintenance.
Understanding of photoelectric and proximity sensing devices. Experience with the operation and use of encoders. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting. Experience with Allen-Bradley equipment and controls. Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience working specifically in industrial maintenance rather than operations. Comfort working on high-speed machinery and printing equipment. Ability to interpret and follow detailed schematics and technical documentation. Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Capability to bring and use personal tools as required by the role. Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team and communicate clearly.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mechanicsburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
