Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains a wide range of heavy and light machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment, while also supporting the upkeep of buildings and grounds. This role ensures that equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently, contributing to high levels of quality and productivity and supporting a safe and healthy workplace.

Responsibilities Repair and maintain a variety of heavy and light manufacturing machinery and equipment. Repair and maintain the buildings and grounds to support safe and efficient operations. Monitor equipment, buildings, and grounds on a daily basis to identify issues early. Perform periodic preventive maintenance and planned repairs to minimize downtime. Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and time-sensitive issues.

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to resolve problems. Maintain an orderly, clean, and well-organized maintenance shop. Ensure equipment operates at a high level of quality, safety, and productivity. Identify the need for repairs or replacements and recommend appropriate solutions. Work and interact closely with machine operators and forklift operators to support production needs.

Meet and plan with management as needed to coordinate maintenance activities and priorities. Work in a safe manner at all times, supporting a high level of machine and facility safety and helping ensure OSHA compliance. Contribute to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Essential Skills Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong electrical knowledge, including high voltage 480V three-phase electricity and low voltage systems. Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems. Experience with electrical wiring, including maintaining equipment control panels and switches. Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing and maintaining mechanical systems and components. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, including motors, hoses, and couplings.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and PLC control systems. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems. Commitment to working safely and supporting OSHA-compliant practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under time constraints.

Ability to collaborate effectively with equipment operators and management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication and welding is desirable. Experience with programmable controls and electronic logic systems is desirable. Experience in working with compressors and related equipment is beneficial. Ability to maintain an organized workspace and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
