Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for production equipment The Maintenance Technician supports operations by diagnosing issues at their source, performing preventive maintenance, and partnering with controls engineers to keep lines running safely and efficiently Job Responsibilities Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on production equipment using a voltmeter, including low-voltage circuits (110V / 24V), sensors, proximity switches, and 3-phase motors Access and work inside electrical panels to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with 240V and 480V 3-phase motor systems Wire motors independently from day one, ensuring correct connections and safe operation Conduct mechanical troubleshooting on conveyors, including motors, valves, hoses, hydraulics, and pneumatic valves Diagnose equipment problems thoroughly to identify root causes instead of simply replacing components, helping to reduce repair costs and downtime Use PLC interfaces and a laptop to assist in identifying faulty sensors and components on systems running Siemens and Rockwell platforms, as needed Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams to guide repair and maintenance work Perform machine repair and machine maintenance tasks across a variety of industrial equipment, including conveyors, fillers, mixers, and related systems Apply mechanical troubleshooting techniques to gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other industrial components Essential Skills Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to use a voltmeter for low-voltage troubleshooting (110V / 24V) and identify issues with sensors and proximity switches Experience troubleshooting and working with 3-phase motors, including going into panels for 240V and troubleshooting 480V 3-phase motor systems Mechanical troubleshooting experience with conveyors, including motors, valves, and hoses, as well as hydraulics and pneumatic valves Ability to wire a motor independently on the first day of work Proficiency in preventive maintenance on industrial machines, ensuring equipment reliability and uptime Solid understanding and practical application of lockout/tagout safety procedures Capability to use basic mechanic tools, including a metric tool set, for maintenance and repair tasks Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Ferndale, MI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
