Job Title: Master Technician Pay: Up to $57/hr depending on experience. Job Description The Master Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles with a strong focus on electric vehicle systems. This role performs complex mechanical and electrical repairs in accordance with established standards, ensures accurate documentation of all work, and supports the development of other technicians through guidance and mentorship.
The position requires advanced technical expertise, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced service environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles using OEM procedures, schematics, and diagnostic equipment. Perform work as outlined on repair orders with a high level of efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
Identify the cause of malfunctions and perform appropriate repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, including EV components and related circuitry. Communicate with the parts department to identify, request, and obtain required parts for each job. Save and tag parts from repairs when required for warranty purposes or when requested by the technical team. Inspect assigned vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required or recommended and communicate findings clearly.
Notify the shop foreman promptly if additional work is needed, if work initially requested is not necessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Document all work performed and recommended on the work order in a clear, accurate, and detailed manner. Road test vehicles when required to verify repairs or refer vehicles to the shop foreman for road testing as appropriate. Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins, recalls, and updates related to vehicle systems, especially EV and hybrid platforms.
Supervise and support other technicians by providing technical guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training. Train newer technicians on maintenance processes, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
