Job Title: Mechanical Technician Job Description This role focuses on assembling, retrofitting, and testing robotic cells and automation systems You will work from detailed blueprints, build and modify mechanical assemblies, integrate pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components, and support power-up, validation, and troubleshooting of robotic systems for a variety of end customers Job Responsibilities Assemble robotic cells and automation systems according to blueprints and provided instructions Perform mechanical assembly, including cutting, painting, light fabrication, and modifications to components as needed Handle assembly and disassembly of robots and industrial machinery to support retrofit and testing activities Complete pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical connections and provide integration support for automation systems Support installation, mounting, and troubleshooting of vision equipment used in robotic cells Assist with system power-on, validate the build against specifications, and perform troubleshooting and integration tasks Prepare systems for tear-down, including careful disassembly and packing of equipment for shipment Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during assembly and retrofit work.
Essential Skills Experience with assembly and disassembly of robots or industrial machinery Ability to read and work from blueprints for robotic cells and mechanical assemblies Proficiency using a full set of mechanical tools for assembly, disassembly, and retrofit work Comfort working with power tools in a safe and controlled manner Basic understanding of mechanical systems and automation equipment Ability to follow detailed instructions and work on the same area or cell for multiple weeks to completion Strong attention to detail when building, modifying, and validating automation systems Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
