Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician Job Description As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment throughout the facility. You will apply your expertise in automation, control systems, and troubleshooting to keep equipment running safely and efficiently, while also mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems throughout the building to ensure safe and reliable operation. Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including sorters, conveyors, and robotics systems. Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical and controls equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including electrical and mechanical components, to quickly restore functionality. Use and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to guide installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Apply established safety standards and practices in all maintenance and repair work, actively identifying and mitigating risks. Support maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning using CMMS and other maintenance management tools.
Leverage data analysis and control systems knowledge to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvements. Contribute to automation and project management efforts related to material handling and robotics systems. Mentor junior technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to help them develop their technical skills and grow in their roles. Collaborate with the Operations Maintenance team to prioritize work, coordinate activities, and ensure effective communication across shifts.
Demonstrate consistent adherence to safety protocols and risk management practices in all aspects of the work. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications. At least 1 year of Microsoft Office products and applications experience. At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.
At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics. At least 2 years of experience demonstrating and adhering to safety standards. At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE). High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work a flexible schedule, shift, and work area, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning. Hands-on experience with conveyor maintenance and automated material handling systems. Knowledge of automation and industrial control systems. Familiarity with robotics and sortation systems in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of risk management principles in an operations or maintenance setting. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Exposure to data analysis and project management in a maintenance or operations environment. Awareness of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma. Why Work Here?
