Job Title: Weekend Day Shift Automation Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and calibrating automated, robotic, and electro-mechanical machinery in a metal stamping environment. You will work a weekend day shift schedule, performing preventative and predictive maintenance to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently while documenting all activities and contributing to continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
Responsibilities Work a weekend day shift schedule from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday through Sunday, maintaining regular, reliable, and punctual attendance in line with assigned schedules and time off policies. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automated equipment to minimize downtime and support consistent production output. Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, hydraulic, mechanical, and software issues, including vision software, in robotic systems and assembly machines.
Install, calibrate, and commission new machinery and control systems to ensure proper operation and integration into existing production processes. Document all maintenance, testing, and repair activities, and maintain detailed records of equipment performance and service history. Dismantle devices and components to access, remove, and replace defective equipment or parts as needed. Examine equipment carefully to detect imperfections, wear, or potential failures and take appropriate corrective actions.
Adjust functional controls of devices and instruments to achieve optimal performance and meet operational specifications. Test equipment thoroughly after repair or maintenance activities to verify correct operation and safety. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment associated with automated and robotic systems. Generate follow-up actions based on preventive maintenance results and suggest updates to preventive maintenance documents to reflect actual findings and improve effectiveness.
Apply a thorough understanding and working knowledge of all job-related Quality Objectives, Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions in daily work. Follow work instructions for Kanban pull systems to support efficient material flow and production scheduling. Maintain the work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times, adhering to 5S standards. Operate production machinery as needed, including loading and unloading materials, and support machine operation activities in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience installing, repairing, and calibrating production machinery, including automated, robotic, and electro-mechanical equipment. Hands-on experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on automated equipment. Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, hydraulic, mechanical, and software-related issues in complex machinery.
Experience working with robotic systems and assembly machines, including vision software troubleshooting. Ability to install, calibrate, and commission new machinery and control systems. Strong skills in documenting maintenance activities, tests, repairs, and equipment performance. Capability to dismantle devices and replace defective equipment safely and efficiently. Skill in examining equipment to detect imperfections and potential failure points.
Ability to adjust functional controls on devices and instruments to meet performance requirements. Competence in testing equipment after maintenance to ensure proper functionality and safety. Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment in an industrial setting. Understanding and working knowledge of Quality Objectives and Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions relevant to the role.
