Medical Lab Scientist I (Core Laboratory) | 2nd Shift 📍 Location: Onsite 🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM | Rotating Weekends About the Role Join our Core Laboratory team as a Medical Lab Scientist I and play an important role in delivering accurate and timely results that support quality patient care. This position is ideal for a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Medical Laboratory Technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis. Review and verify specimens for testing. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments. Perform quality control and routine maintenance procedures. Accurately analyze and report patient test results. Assist with specimen processing and preparation as needed. Maintain laboratory supplies and support daily workflow.
Follow all laboratory safety and PPE requirements. Collaborate with technologists, phlebotomists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient laboratory operations. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science field OR Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) ASCP or AMT certification required (or eligibility to sit for the MLS exam).
0-2 years of clinical laboratory experience, laboratory training, or relevant education. Experience or knowledge in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis testing. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with laboratory systems. Ability to pass a color vision screening. Preferred Experience with SoftLab LIS.
Experience with Cerner Community Works EMR. Hospital or clinical laboratory experience. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.31 - $35.31/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
