Job Title: Operations Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and driven Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations for a fast-paced restoration business. This hands-on leader will oversee mitigation, cleaning, and reconstruction activities while balancing strategic, big-picture thinking with the ability to roll up their sleeves to get work done. In this role, you will manage projects from start to finish, lead and develop a strong team, and help scale the business through exceptional operational performance and customer service. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across mitigation, cleaning, and reconstruction to ensure projects run efficiently, safely, and on schedule. Manage water, mold, fire, and storm damage projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
Track and improve key performance metrics such as cycle times, margins, and customer satisfaction. Implement systems and processes that support operational efficiency and business growth. Schedule crews and coordinate subcontractors as needed to meet project timelines and customer expectations. Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers, insurance adjusters, and property managers throughout each project.
Estimate jobs accurately and prepare complete project documentation in line with company procedures. Ensure compliance with IICRC standards and internal company policies across all projects. Recruit, train, and mentor field personnel to build a strong, high-performing operations team. Start up a new office location and build out the team required to support local operations. Lead and develop department managers and staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Build and maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer focus within the operations group. Support hiring, retention, and ongoing employee development initiatives to strengthen the organization. Partner with ownership and executive leadership on business growth and expansion plans. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, increase efficiency, and drive revenue growth.
Build and nurture relationships with clients, vendors, and referral partners to support business development. Ensure a consistently high level of service across all projects, maintaining a strong reputation in the community. Respond to occasional after-hours emergency situations as needed to support customers and field teams. Safely handle physical aspects of the role, including lifting up to 50+ pounds when required for project work or site support.
Essential Skills 5–8+ years of leadership experience in restoration, construction, or a closely related industry. Restoration industry experience, with a strong understanding of mitigation, cleaning, and reconstruction operations. Management or supervisory experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with the Rochester restoration market and established relationships with industry stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, adjusters, property managers, and internal teams. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Demonstrated ability to drive results while building and sustaining a strong team culture.
Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process, documentation, and compliance. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed in support of field operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications IICRC certifications such as WRT, ASD, and FSRT are strongly preferred. Experience using Xactimate or similar estimating software is a plus. Degree in Business or Construction Management, or 5–8+ years of operation
